K2 (Azurite in Quartz) Sculpture

K2 is considered a new find, discovered only 6 years ago at the base of the K2 mountain in the Himalayas, hence the name. K2 is Azurite nodules in Granite, which is a type of Quartz. Azurite is often seen as a very intense stone, opening up the third eye with such vigor it can sometimes be alarming. But paired with the Granite, it is a much more integrated and grounded energy. It allows an expansion of the mind and intellect, without it becoming unbalanced or misaligned, without it becoming pretentious and disconnected from the heart. In this way, using K2 allows one to lean into the intellectual mind, into focus and knowledge, while still honoring our emotional body. Sometimes these two forces have different experiences, and K2 allows us to hold them both as true - expanding the mind while still feeling the heart.
