Tips for Awakening the Sensual Self

So much of my work and what excites me is about embodiment, and so much of embodiment comes from harnessing the energy of the sensual self. Sensuality is about being in our bodies. It is about using all of our senses to ground into the present moment and the magic available to us in any given instance. Sensuality is something I live and breathe. And it has created a fullness of life that I could have never imagined.
If you are attuned to your sensual self, you are turned on. Not necessarily sexually, but energetically. You are awakened and alive when you are connected to the sensual self. The full spectrum of the human experience becomes a part of your awareness, and the sensual self is turned ON by this self awareness, allowing it to feed our creative and human experience.

Tips for Awakening the Sensual Self

• Get in your body and out of your head. Do this by moving your body. Create a really clear connection to the body. Make slight muscle adjustments in any given moment. Dance. Bring heightened awareness to the body and all that it does for you.
• Self Massage upon Waking.
Bring life and energetic flow back to the body by self massage. Take your hands and grab at your thighs. Rub your feet. Rub your belly. Really feel your body. Breathe it in.
• Write more love letters.
This is about getting into the heart space. This is about awakening the essence of romance within you. Write love letters to yourself, to the trees, to your favorite pair of shoes. Write a poem. Write out the sadness you’ve held in your heart since you were a child. It’s still a love letter.
•Take yourself on a date.
Self dates are a chance for you to show yourself what turns you on, what you like, and how you want to be treated. Buy yourself flowers. Flirt with yourself. Take yourself out to get your favorite meal.
•Get Turned on by Your Own Being
Have you ever focused in on the way your hair feels as it brushes against your shoulders? Or the way it smells? Or the way it feels when your run your fingers along your scalp? Give yourself some moments of this sweet connection. How good do you feel?
